A Member of WASSA?

Whether your interest is in seminars or shows, potlucks or picnics, or walks in the park, WASSA membership offers something for everyone sharing a common love of getting together and doing things with our Shelties.

Individual membership is just $15.00 a year. We also offer joint membership at the rate of $22.00 for two persons in the same household.

Who Can Join?

The only real pre-requisite to becoming a member of WASSA is that you Must Love Shelties!

Additionally, however, in keeping with our Constitution and Bylaws, all persons of good character and standing who are in accord and favourable to the objects of the Club shall be eligible for membership in the Club. In applying, members must agree to the following statements:

• "We, as members of the Winnipeg Area Shetland Sheepdog Association, owners, breeders and lovers of the Shetland Sheepdog, associate ourselves to work together for the betterment and furtherance of the Shetland Sheepdog, in accordance with the standards set by the Canadian Kennel Club; to disseminate knowledge, sportsmanship and friendly competition at various shows and matches, to have the welfare of the Shetland Sheepdog at heart and to do the utmost to direct this Club towards the purpose and ideals for which it has been created."

The Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)

Legislation in Canada dictates that WASSA must obtain written consent from all members to possess the personal information of members i.e. names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers. This written consent allows for personal information to be shared among the WASSA membership for the purpose of WASSA business. The WASSA membership list is for the express use of WASSA members and will not be shared with or sold to other individuals or organizations.  Additionally, by contacting WASSA, your email and personal information will remain confidential.
